Vail sits at 8,150 feet in the Gore Range — Vail Village's Bavarian pedestrian core anchored by the Lodge at Vail and the Sonnenalp, Lionshead Village a 10-minute walk west around the Eagle Bahn Gondola, and Beaver Creek's sister resort ten miles down I-70. The seven Back Bowls (Sun Up, Sun Down, China, Siberia, Tea Cup, Inner and Outer Mongolia) make up the largest single ski-mountain footprint on the continent.
