Sunriver is the largest master-planned resort community in the Pacific Northwest — 3,300 acres on the Deschutes River 17 miles south of Bend, built by the Brooks-Scanlon Timber Company in 1968 and now home to 4,000+ private vacation rentals, the year-round Sunriver Resort Lodge, three championship golf courses, the SHARC family aquatic center, and 40 miles of paved bike-and-pedestrian path threading every neighborhood from The Cove on the north end to Three Rivers South on the south. The resort runs Tom Fazio's Crosswater (consistently top-ranked Oregon course, $185+ public greens fees), the family-friendly par-71 Meadows on the riverbank, and the original 1968 Woodlands on the north side; the SHARC has three pools and three water slides plus a tubing river; and the Village at Sunriver is the resort's central shopping-and-dining circle anchored by Sunriver Brewing Company's Sunriver brewpub, Marcello's Cucina Italiana, the Goody's ice-cream institution, and the Hot Lava Baking Company. Most Sunriver vacation rentals come with the SHARC-and-pool-access pass and free bike-path use included; a few resort-managed homes also include access to the lodge's Sage Springs Spa and the Sunriver tennis club. Mt. Bachelor is 15 miles west on the Cascade Lakes Highway; Newberry National Volcanic Monument is 8 miles south; and the Bend Ale Trail's 20+ breweries are 17 miles north.

Our Sunriver inventory leans the resort's classic neighborhoods: Mountain View Lodges and Eagle Lodges (the old-Sunriver lodge condos near the Lodge), the Three Rivers South single-family pool-and-hot-tub homes (the family-summer-week classic), the Tamarack-and-Meadow-House row near the Meadows golf course, the Lodge Village condos walking distance to the resort hub, Caldera Springs (the newer next-door planned community with private lake access), and a small set of luxury Crosswater estates near the Crosswater golf course on the south end. Roberts Field (RDM) in Redmond is the closest commercial airport — 33 miles north, 40 minutes — with non-stops on Alaska, American, Delta, and United. Most Sunriver rentals enforce 2- or 3-night minimums; summer holiday weeks (July 4 and Labor Day) and ski-season weekends often run 4-night and full-week minimums; many homes offer SHARC-passes-for-X-people included, but always confirm pass count and golf-discount-card status at booking.
