Redmond sits on the high-desert Deschutes Plateau at 3,077 feet, the 39,000-resident Deschutes County seat 16 miles north of Bend, 17 miles north of Sunriver, and the practical airport hub for all of Central Oregon — Roberts Field (RDM, the regional commercial airport) is 3 miles south of downtown with non-stop service on Alaska, American, Delta, and United to eight US cities. Smith Rock State Park's 800-foot welded-tuff climbing cliffs are 10 miles east in Terrebonne (the Misery Ridge Trail's 3.7-mile loop and the 1,800+ bolted sport-climbing routes); Eagle Crest Resort 7 miles west has three championship 18-hole courses (the Resort and Ridge are top-100 Oregon courses), an aquatic center, and 18 miles of paved bike path; the Cline Buttes recreation area immediately west of town has 30+ miles of high-desert singletrack used by Bend-area mountain bikers; and the Petersen Rock Garden's 1935 folk-art lava-rock castles 8 miles south are the unexpected-quirky Central Oregon stop. Downtown Redmond's two-block walkable SW 6th-and-7th-Street stretch has Wild Ride Brewing's 30-barrel brewhouse, Initiative Brewing's tap room, the historic 1928 Redmond Hotel (now a boutique inn with General Duffy's beer garden), and the Saturday Farmers Market in the SW 7th block. Cline Falls State Scenic Viewpoint on the Deschutes River is 4 miles west.

Our Redmond inventory leans Eagle Crest condos and homes (about half the local rental market — the resort's golf-course-side condos at the Resort, Ridge, and Challenge, with included pool-and-aquatic-center access), single-family pool-and-hot-tub homes in northwest Redmond (the residential family-pool district near Cline Buttes trailheads), a small set of downtown lofts and townhomes near SW 6th-and-7th-Street brewery row, and a few Crooked River Ranch homes 12 miles north for the truly off-grid high-desert experience. Roberts Field (RDM) is 3 miles south of downtown — the closest fly-in for any Central Oregon trip, with the rental-car desks at the airport open through the last evening arrival. Most Redmond rentals enforce 2-night minimums; Smith Rock spring-climbing season (March–May) and Eagle Crest summer-golf weeks often run 3-night minimums.
