Gorgeous, spacious home with more than enough outside space. Wonderful for outdoor eating, on the lanai or poolside or on the back deck. Cared for outside daily; gas supplied for grill without asking. Upstairs master bedroom has private balcony and very large, well appointed master bath. Home easily accommodated our group of 5 (3 adults, 2 teens). Good location with great views. Onsite caretakers a nice touch.

This lovely property is perfect for those of us wanting to experience Hawaii from a "local" standpoint. Situated high above Kailua-Kona, the view from the tree canopy is nothing short of stunning, panoramic. We spent many a moment sitting and staring as we relished the quiet. <br/> <br/>The house itself is stunning and unique, spacious, immaculately clean and affords privacy in each of the three bedrooms. The beds themselves are very comfortable.<br/><br/>The kitchen is huge and affords ample work & eating space. We do wish there'd been more prepping, storage & serving bowls. <br/><br/>We didn't use the beautiful pool much as it was bitterly cold, shaded by foliage and a bit of a trek to & from (we are seniors). <br/><br/>The other aspect of the property we hadn't counted on was the steep grade getting to and from it. Once we figured out how to navigate the driveway it wasn't a problem, but we didn't enjoy our usual daily walks because the roads were quite steep to navigate.<br/><br/>Access to tourist attractions, shopping and the like was easy & convenient. <br/><br/>

My family had a comfortable stay for the Labor day weekend with plenty of room for some friends we hosted.The price was reasonable and the kids enjoyed the pool. We cooked every night so the large kitchen was very helpful. If kona is our destination in the future I'll be looking for this property again

This is a beautiful property. The house is very spacious, suitable for up to 10 people. The location is good, and the views are great. The only problem was the numerous stairs which were a problem for my wife.

The house has a beautiful floor plan and the lanai was our favorite spot. We loved the pool! I didn’t mind paying the $250 cleaning fee expecting to have a clean house. It was not dirty enough to bother with dealing with the cleaning staff, but there was a pool of dirty coffee water on the counter by the coffee maker, a grape stem cluster on the shelf in the bedroom, a dirty fork on the dinette bench, to name a few things. The rugs in the bathrooms were either filthy dirty or badly stained. Either way, they were so worn and badly need replacing. There was trash piled up at the end of the driveway and the trash can was overflowing. We had to store our trash at the bottom of the stairs for 5 days. After a long day of travel, we all were looking forward to a shower, only to find not one washcloth in the entire house. After sending a text, which seemed the only way anyone would communicate, they sent housekeeping with 5 washcloths the next day. More than one dish towel and one dish cloth would have been nice and potholders would have been useful. Overall, we enjoyed the house and think the property is beautiful.

Incredible home. Incredible amenities. Best lanai in Hawaii. A wonderful, unmatched, view, 3 trees full of lucious, juicy, Kona oranges, and a family of silly turkeys. This place is The Garden of Eden!!

Great experience my Group loved it..The Views were gorgeous. Watching the Sunset and waking Up to the Views make this property a Must.One Negetive is after spending 2,900 $ and asking for a later check out of 2 Hours.. They wanted to Charge Us.If my flight was @ 10pm I would have paid it..

the accommodations were excellent, beautiful place and all the amenities needed. they had even sunscreen, beach chairs and snorkel equipment. the view was superb. the pool was quite a treat. the only set back was the distance from the best beaches. make sure you know what you want to see at the island.

We had a very relaxing time at the home. The only problem with the rental is that you may scuttle some of your Kona-area plans to just stay at the house. The main deck is enormous and completely covered giving shelter when it rains and providing a 15-mile view from left to right. Beds have excellent linens and are high quality, as are the towels. Good luck keeping happy children out of the pool!

Very nice home with nice furnishings. Missed working light over stove... kitchen nook 3 of five bulbs out... missed various sizes of mixing bowls.. otherwise we enjoyed our stay very much...

this made the trip to Hawaii experience very great. the pool for the kids having the master bedroom upstairs overlooking the vegetation and ocean. just a great way to vacation wish there was AC in the house very hot but the property manager did go buy us 3 fans to help.. if I was the house owner id invest in ac in the rooms.

Our Hawaii vacation experience was phenomenal while staying at the Ono Hale in Kona.The property had a perfect sunset view of the ocean from the balcony. All the amenities met our expectations including nice pool.

Overall, our experience was a very good one. Beautiful grounds and pool. The house was wonderful. However, all of the towels and hand cloths need to be changed to new ones. The house does have a musty smell, especially in the lower level. The mattresses also need to be upgraded as well as bed linens. Televisions and the cable service also need to be updated. An HD tv but no HD service. Lanai is very spacious but there is mold on the support trusses.

From the home to the Knutson staff, this was, by far, the very best rental experience we've had ANYWHERE! Calling this home beautiful is an understatement! It's a fabulous place and deserving of any accolades given it. A fabulous lanai, incredible master bedroom, and truly usable kitchen are just 3 wonderful attributes among hundreds. First and foremost, we had a great vacation and loved this place. The house was beautiful with some nice gardens, a great lanai, and a stunning pool. The kitchen is well equipped, and there were a ton of swimming and beach toys to use. However, the property management was not impressive; they didn't mark the property as paid for on VRBO until the day we arrived (I had to call in long before to confirm the VRBO knew I had paid for the rental) and they didn't include a required fee in the original estimate; they also didn't collect the right amount for tax originally and charged me the difference during our stay. Still, this was pretty minor and was not nearly enough to detract from the excellent place.

This is a great house with plenty of space and open floor plan. You must BOOK your car before you go. The property is up in the "Sunset" section of Kona. Close to a coffee farm and an outstanding place to buy coffee fresh! Complete kitchen, which we used. Super clean baths, bedrooms and kitchen. Great coverage deck. It's all about the VIEW!

We were a large family and everything about this property was perfect. The bedrooms could have been more, but overall a great place. There's enough room to spread around and lounge. The covered patio is awesome and the views are priceless morning and evening. The service from property manager Blake was prompt and courteous. <br/>Only drawback was the insects due to the tropics. But it's expected anywhere in HI. <br/>Overall, great property.

We are a local family from the Hilo side of the island who stayed at Ono Hale while in Kona for a baseball tournament. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay...the home was comfortable, clean and convenient. The pool was an added plus especially after spending a long day at the park. Mahalo!

Overall a 3 Star Rental... cannnot give a proper review in 2000 characters. “good”-Excellent location, lanai and pool.”Bad”- Poor maintenance and many worn out items. (Screen door, kitchen cabinet hinges, broken blinds, Slove light, tub jets, blurry TV) Driveway to main level parking not passable by average rental car. 32 steps from available parking to main level. “Ugly”-Grounds need serious cleanup,trash removal and trimming. Some furniture not fit for Good Will donation( bedroom chair, pool umbrella, deck chair) Owner needs to reinvest in his rental to solve longstanding problems and worn out items. The house was amazing! The pictures didn't do It justice as there was way more space than expected. The lanai was the best feature. We spent most of the time on the lanai it was spacious and had fantastic views. The management was very responsive when we had an issue. We couldn't find the BBQ equipment (later found it in a box). The management came the next day with new utensils. The rental was clean and well maintained. The only drawback was limited kitchen equipment for 8 people (serving bowls,pots and pans). But I sent a list of things that would be useful for the kitchen and I expect they will address this. The location was central. We had a rental car and were able to get everywhere easily. I would recommend this place to other travellers.

Overall the property was just what we needed to enjoy our vacation. Beautiful view, perfect location, close to everything we wanted to do, lovely pool, great BBQ, amazing lanai overlooking Kona and the ocean! <br/>A few things to take note of... not particularly negative, just something that potential renters should be aware of.<br/>1. Unless you have a high clearance vehicle... do NOT go all the way up to the back of the house. I almost high centered the Nissan Quest we rented. Luckily I was going down slow so I was able to back up and after a numerous point repositioning, I was able to go at the steep incline on an angle. The driveway at the bottom is also very inclined, so be careful coming and going. Nothing too bad that angling your entry and exit won't fix. But I did catch the muffler a few times.<br/>2. There is A LOT of stairs. We actually kinda liked them for the purpose of exercise, but if you have bad knees this house may not be the best idea for you. (But if you can handle the stairs the climb is worth the view!)<br/>3. There is no AC. I thought there was when we booked it, but it was because the rental documents are general for ALL properties, so it was a mistake on my part. I did go out and buy two fans from Walmart to keep air circulating. Which did great.<br/>Overall, we had a very lovely time at the house and on the Big Island!

Our stay at Ono hale was amazing. The one and only thing that was negative was all those stairs. There were lots. But besides that, everything was perfect. The property management was very accommodating to our needs and the home was well maintained. We are already looking to book this house again in the future. The pool is beautiful and my family enjoyed laying out for hours enjoying cocktails and really just enjoying the home. Last thing, the views from the outside lanai were breathtaking. We will definitely be staying here again.

Myself, my husband and our two adult sons stayed at Ono Hale for two and a half weeks over June/July. We absolutely loved the house, it was clean, well equipped (plus loads of beach equipment and towels) and the chairs and beds were very comfortable - not always the case in rental properties! The gorgeous pool was a godsend to cool off in and afternoons were spent in the shade of the fantastic lanai where we could watch the sun sink slowly into the ocean. Every member of our party loved the house and Blake and the team at Knutson were very helpful and responsive. We didn't have any problems that needed attention but Blake contacted us to check that everything was OK which was appreciated. Kailua Kona is a long and expensive journey from the UK where we live but if we ever come back, and all of us would like to as the island is magical, this is where we will stay!!

We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful place to stay! Lovely views with the covered deck. Beautiful landscaping, furnishings, wooden ...and tile floors, lots of space, refreshing pool! Amazing!
