We rented the one bedroom apartment for a full week and had an amazing time! It had everything we needed, even if a few features felt outdated, all were full functional. The sofa was what I like to call a couch hole, something so good you NEVER want to leave. We used the free books, the pool and hot tub, and walked down to the rocky coast several times. The bed was great, place was clean, and I wish we'd grilled out, but we aren't cooks lol.<br/><br/>The staff was amazing. Quick responses to questions, and maintenance came same day for one weird noise we were hearing (turns out was a different unit lol!) And got it all sorted quickly.<br/><br/>Would go back in a heartbeat.

The apartment was very nice, the pool and the BBQ area was very clean and beautiful. Great location and very clean. I highly recommend it.

The condo is average. Price was ok. People are friendly around the pool and lounge area. The only odd thing I thought was the amount of consumables. I didn&#x2019;t plan on going on vacation and having to buy toilet paper, garbage bags, aluminum foil, spices, etc...Talking with other owners all that is provided. Pots and pans are very outdated as-well. I&#x2019;m not really complaining just saying little things like that matter to a person who&#x2019;s on vacation not running errands for basic household necessities.

This condo was absolutely perfect! Location was so convenient to many hikes, awesome beaches and restaurants. Condo was super clean and well equipped. Would stay here again! Loved it!

Had an amazing time at Kona Makai 2-102. Place was clean and they were able to let us check in a little early.Nice property ,not far from town. Nice having extras,cooler, boogie board.Only wish they had 2 beach chairs instead of just 1, but would stay here again!

The property was so beautiful and well maintained. The unit was a bit on the older side but very clean and well maintained. We loved that it was on the first floor, no having to log everything up a. Inch of stairs but we still had a view of the ocean from our lanai. We could not ever get the moving area a/c to flow cold air, but the bedroom one worked really well and that&#x2019;s really all that mattered to us.

AC broke. Well, we arrived and it never got cool so I'm going to say it never worked. We slept one sweaty night and realized we could text someone about the issue. They got right back to us and we had new AC units by that afternoon in the bedroom and also in the living room. The rest of the stay was very comfortable and I was so grateful someone got back to us and resolved the issue. This is what I'll remember. But also, everything was nice, clean, and comfortable :)

A nice updated unit, ground floor amid beautiful, mature landscaping. Geckos on the lanai provided entertainment! Only glitch was the dishwasher door not closing properly and an under sink water alarm that woke everyone up at 5am on our last day. Kona Makai is an aging property - this unit is the exception.

Great stay as usual. Right on the ocean front so you'll enjoy sunsets most every night. Quiet and comfortable and close to town. From the driveway to the front edge of town is one mile and the another .25 miles to the farmers market. Add another .25 and you are at the sea wall for more shops and dinning places. The Kona Makai grounds are also in fantastic shape but the exercise rooms could use updated equipment. Our unit was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Only steps from the waters edge but it too could use a little TLC.

Our stay at Kona Makai condos was very nice. It was clean, quiet, and beautifully landscaped. The principal broker, Blake, was very helpful and went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend staying at Kona Makai Condominiums.

We loved staying at this condo in the Kona-Makai complex! Airy, comfortably furnished, and with a fully fitted out kitchen with dishes, cookware, spices and more. We loved waking up in the mornings to the songs of beautiful birds, fixing delicious protein shakes (blender provided) with fresh farm stand mango, apple bananas and coconut milk. Then, going outside on the lanai to enjoy the ocean view, surrounded by gorgeous tropical plants and flowers, sipping a cup of the locally purchased and freshly roasted Kona coffee (prepared in the provided French Press pot). For dinner you could find us cooking up some delicious Ona, Mahi Mahi or shrimp on the open grills near the ocean, swimming in the refreshing salt-water pool, and watching gorgeous sunsets, followed by stargazing. Magical. Snorkeling and other beach gear are provided, which we made good use of at local beach parks, some within walking distance. Close to town, great restaurants and "The Green Flash" coffee house, there was much fun to be had in open air bars with live music and delicious seafood! The condo was very clean, the bed was so comfortable, the grounds impeccably maintained, the BBQ, outdoor tables and chairs clean and easy to access. I highly recommend you stay here!

This was our most unusual trip to the Big Island for the two decades we have visited. The first four days were idyllic, then the Island was shut down as a covid-19 response. This condo and condo complex proved the best place to be quarantined. The condo was wonderful, the complex was beautifully maintained and the residents were very friendly. We had everything we needed and felt quite at home there. The Knutson folks were very accommodating and helpful as well.

Our start was short as we were celebrating our anniversary and just live on the otherside of the Big Island. We have stayed at this complex before and love the location. This unit was a short 1 minute walk to the water. Great place to start a morning with a cup of coffee. The complex sits just outside of the business of Kona, so it was quite. You can hear the ocean. It was nice.

Very comfortable, clean and had everything we needed to cook a few dinners. The location was near the pool and driving or walking to town was convenient.

Easy check in, VERY convenient and close to the YWAM campus, easy to UBER or walk to Coconut Grove area. Clean and private unit, very pleasant surroundings. Thank you!

Very quaint in a quiet complex. Great pool. Parking is super easy. Entire team that works at the property is extremely friendly and helpful.

We like the unit however, it has a very small bed and plenty of room to upgrade it.

Overall good location. Happy that beach accessories available.

Kona Makai 2-102 was an excellent value for our first and definitely not last trip to Hawaii.

The big problem we had was when we came back to the property after dark and the gate was closed. Nothing in the material we were sent had the gate code, nor was it in the room. I finally got in by guessing it was part of the phone number for the complex. I also had a hard time figuring out how to access the WI-FI. I finally managed to run down the condo manager who gave it to me.

Our vacation home was very nice. There were some ants, but i saw that they had ant traps out. The facilities were very nice and the gate made us feel secure at night. Thanks for everything.

I loved our place on the Big Island. It was in a great location but even better was the condo itself. I so enjoyed drinking my morning tea on the balcony looking at the pool and beach and the beautiful landscaping. It was the perfect size for the 3 of us and all in all the perfect place for our stay. I would definitely recommend it!<br/>

As well as all you need for the beach including body boards, beach towels, a beach chair, a cooler…<br/>• The complex is well located, has a nice pool and Jacuzzi, a beautiful and well maintained garden, a ping pong table and several BBQs as well as front seats to a beautiful sunset each evening<br/>

Totally lovely; the only reason I didn't rate furniture at the highest is that it was a bit uncomfortable for me. Lower chairs on deck and better couch and chairs would be better. Not complaining though, it was all really lovely

We were able to observe beautiful sunsets from the lanai and enjoy a peaceful breakfast every morning surrounded by a wonderful lush garden, singing birds, and sounds of the ocean waves. The location is central to everything so it was very convenient for all of our shopping, sight seeing, dining, and activities. Our unit was well stocked with everything imaginable so we saved money on renting beach chairs & boogie boards. Mahalo for a wonderful time.

Very happy with our stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Kona Makai the grounds are gorgeous and the view is great! We saw many whales and spinner dolphins while lounging in the common/pool area. The condo is cute and located a good distance from down town Alli drive. Kona is fabulous!! The condo bathroom and window ledges need a little more TLC with cleaning, but it was a nice touch to have extra beach towels, sunscreen and a boogie board there to use.<br/>I would go back any time :)!!

This condo was exactly what we needed. We were hesitant about where we wanted to stay because of all the options that are available. It's hard to pick! 2-102 was perfect. It's In one of the closer buildings to the ocean, which is what everyone wants, right? The owners did a AMAZING job with the remodel. We loved it! We will be back!!

OMG!! One of the best vacations we have ever had. And we have been to Kona many times over the last 10 yrs. What made this trip extraordinary was where we stayed. The condo we rented had a great view as well as acsess to the water to go snorkeling as well as BBQ right at the "edge" of the beautiful coastline. Loved that we could relax in lounge chairs right at the water front. Wi-wi worked great. good location to town. Thank you for providing a place for us!! Already recommend this place to my co-workers. Unfortunately there were vermins in the kitchen and bathroom and by the looks of the drawers they had been there for a longer time. We complained, but nobody answered our calls or e-mails. Though they did some pest control later on (which was either planned before or done because of our complaints,I don't know), it was no help.<br/><br/>Apart from that, the condo and the whole facility was nice.

Enjoyed our stay in Kona. Unit was close and convenient to town with a great pool & ideal parking, & a nice view of the ocean. Amenities in unit were excellent.

The initial reservation process was smooth, however when it came to paying the deposit, the associate from Knutson was extremely rude. One should know that Knutson only advertises for owners and they have no recourse should the owner cancel at the last minute. Upon arrival, we were extremely pleased with the location of our condo and its cleanliness. One chair was broken but other than that the condo was well-equipped.

Every thing was great except there was no key in the lock box, my daughter who is deaf arrived a few hours before us but finally found a lady who did help her get into the condo. So all worked out. My wife and I do plan on returning and do plan on using your company. Thanks for everything.<br/>Bill

Beautiful complex in a magnificent location. Great sunsets each day. Our flat was well maintained and well equipped. Just perfect for two people. We intend to repeat the experience next year.

This was a very good place to stay, not tofar from anything I did not rent a car so I did a lot of walking, the beaches and resterants were only a short 10 minute away. The only problem i had was when I first arrived and had a little trouble opening the door, there was a trick to it and after the first time there were not any more problems. All in all I had a very good time and I would strongly recomend this property to anyone.
