Saint Croix is a U.S. territory — no passport required for U.S. citizens, the U.S. dollar everywhere, and direct domestic flights from Miami, Charlotte, Atlanta, and JFK into Henry E. Frederiksted on the west coast is the cruise-ship pier and the quieter sister town. The two main highways (Centerline Road and the Northside / Mahogany Road loop) circle the central interior cane fields and the surviving sugar-mill ruins.
