A small chef-driven Charlotte County waterfront city on the south shore of the Peace River where it meets Charlotte Harbor — the historic downtown Riverwalk runs the harbor's edge with the Hurricane Charley's, the Cubo Cuban-Floridian dining room, and Café Eurasia, the 1.4-mile Riverwalk paved promenade leads to the Fishermen's Village marina, the Punta Gorda Isles 60-mile gridded canal network anchors the southwest, and Boca Grande Pass tarpon water is 25 minutes south.
Punta Gorda sits on the south shore of the Peace River at the head of Charlotte Harbor — a 20,000-resident Charlotte County city with a small but outsized chef-driven dining scene on Marion Avenue (The Perfect Caper, Cubo, Café Eurasia, Hurricane Charley's), the 1.4-mile Riverwalk paved promenade running the harbor edge from the Punta Gorda Memorial Auditorium to the Fishermen's Village marina-and-shopping district, and the Punta Gorda Isles residential neighborhood with a 60-mile gridded canal network leading through a single lock to Charlotte Harbor. The 2024-opened Sunseeker Resort on the Port Charlotte side of the harbor adds 18 on-site restaurants and a marina five minutes north of downtown. Boca Grande's tarpon-fishing pass and Gulf-front beaches are 25 minutes south.
Our Punta Gorda inventory leans Punta Gorda Isles canal homes with private pools and docks (the bulk of the rental market here), a few downtown townhomes within walking distance of the Riverwalk and Fishermen's Village, and a small set of inland single-family pool homes for golf-and-fishing weeks. Punta Gorda Airport (PGD) is 5 minutes north — a primarily-Allegiant budget hub with seasonal direct service to 50+ cities. Southwest Florida International (RSW) is 50 minutes south. Most rentals enforce 3- to 5-night minimums.
