The condo was exactly what I needed for my stay. Clean and quaint. The view was amazing, absolutely beautiful.

We very much enjoyed our stay, expecially time on the Lanai. Some improvements would be helpful but we enjoyed our week here.

This Oceanfront darling condo is awesome! Perfect for a couple with a beautiful ocean view from Lanai. We saw so many dolphin pods we lost count. We were able to walk to On The Rocks and shops daily! Happy Hour starts at 3 and they have the best Mai Tais!

This condo is in a premium location for access to all the waterfront fun. We watched surfers, body surfers, parasailing, etc.

The unit is right on the ocean and the views and sounds are unbeatable. The unit may be a bit small if you had four people stay as there is a lot a furniture in the small unit. We have stayed at Kona Reef may times and enjoyed each visit. Common area is well maintained and just enough rules to make it fun. Unit could have a little more attention to cleanliness but, we understand as it is in a cleaning service.

This wonderful ocean front apartment for two is very chic and relaxing.<br/>it has everything you want . Ocean ,pool.restaurants,and quiet neighbors .<br/>The pool was fantastic with for massive gas grills for cooking.<br/>My brother and I had a great time.I preferred it over a large high end hotel in Kohala !

Kona Reef Condos, we've stayed in several, are just a great place to be.<br/>Good amenities, close to town and a view worth every penny.

We have been coming to Kona for over 20yrs staying at different places. You cannot beat the view from this unit. It is close enough to the main part of town if you want to walk for shopping or eating.

We are frequent visitors to Kailua-Kona as my son & his family live here. We also like the location and units at Kona Reef. This year, my fiance and I made it "official" and decided on an ocean front unit for our was perfect!! So perfect in fact that we actually have a framed picture of the entry to the living room and view hanging in our house as a reminder of what a wonderful time we had and how much we enjoyed the unit. It is clean, has everything you need and above-all for us a nice firm bed for a comfortable night's sleep. Loved it and will be back.

The property is very close to water. Fabulous sunset views. Interior decorationing has a 60s 70s tropical decor.Walkimg distance to restaurants bars etc. The ocean view!!!

Great ocean view unit right on the water. The building is located about a 3min walk from all of the restaurants, bars and shops. Check in/out was incredibly easy.

Place was outstanding. View, and interior of unit couldn't have been better.

We stayed in this apartment for a week; apartment is a good size for my 11 year old, my husband and myself. The best features for this apartment are definitely the stunning view of the ocean from the balcony and convenient location. The kitchenette is well equip with everything you would need for a short stay. Property management was welcoming, and checked in via text throughout our stay. Overall we had a pleasant stay. The view from this condo lanai was amazing! We loved sitting outside and watching the water- the boogie boarders, parasailing, and listening to the waves. It was nice to have the kitchen and Barbecue area so we could prepare meals.

This kona reef unit d32 has a GREAT full on ocean view..the sights and sounds of the surf right outside the lanai. Easy access to town, restaurants, and beaches. EXCELLENT

"Absolute Oceanfront" pretty much sums it up. You'd have to be a fish to get any closer to the ocean. Fabulous place, excellently managed by Knutson. We'll be back.

This was our second year in D32. Annie really spruced the condo up with new furniture including lanai table and chairs. New light fixtures, too. We love the location. You don't really need a car. When we aren't sitting on the lanai we walk to the beach next door. Then a short walk to to the bars and restaurants. Perfect!

This complex was very nice, well maintained area with beautiful pool and covered BBQ area.Located easy walking distance to all restaurants on ocean. Condo itself had everything you need, air conditioning though we found we had plenty of breeze. The washer and dryer was very handy. The unit itself has not been updated so compared to others we have visited this lacks those amenties (granite countertops, newer appliances, etc.) BUT the view and location are incredible.

This is a beautiful property to stay in!! There were a couple issues that were taken care of immediately by the owner which was much appreciated!! This was our third time staying in this condo and will be back again. You cannot beat the view anywhere!!

The view and sound of the ocean can't be beat. Having a cooler, chairs, beach towels and snorkel gear for the beach was great. The flea market and restaurants are within walking distance and the pool area is nice. Decor in the condo has seen better days though. The chandeliers are corroded, missing pieces, and dirty on top of that. Pillows in living room smell and need to be replaced. Kitchen has supplies to make a meal, but no real sparkles in there either. Place just needs a refresh job to get back to it's glory days. I would go back, nice bedroom plenty of storage in the closet and the flooring is really cool.

Positives:<br/>- great location, walking distance to most of the stores and restaurants in Kailua-Lona.<br/>- Condo building has a nice pool and hot tub. Great place to be after a long flight from the mainland.<br/>- absolutely awesome view of the ocean. beautiful breeze from lanai. We saw whales and other sea life.<br/>Negatives:<br/>- Maintenance- broken drawers, broken shower door, old kitchen appliances, etc.<br/>- Small condo with inefficient layout. The dresser and TV are in the closet which limits space.<br/>- Furniture is not super comfortable.<br/><br/>Conclusion:<br/>Awaesome location and view, but there are probably better units in this same condo development.<br/>

We stayed for 6 days in the Kona Reef D32 condo. The view is fantastic! We simply used the overhead fans and left the door on the lanai open for the natural breeze. Since it's very close to town, it's easy to go to the farmer's market for delicious fresh fruit and vegetables and Kona has lots of cool shops and restaurants to enjoy. Very comfortable place to stay.

One week

Unit D32 at the Kona Reef is a great deal for your holiday. The private lanai with an absolutely fantastic view and the in-room washer and dryer were worth the price alone. Being up on the 3rd floor made a huge difference in how private things felt. The bed was comfy, the appliances worked great, and the local property manager was extremely helpful. The decor wasn't to my taste, but who cares, it's not my house and we didn't spend our days in the unit anyway. You won't be disappointed.

Kona Reef is an excellent location -easy walk to town but right on the ocean. D32 has a fabulous view- we spent most of the time either on the lanai. The sound of the surf was the most relaxing part. The kitchen was especially well stocked for cooking. I think all the 1-bedrooms in Kona Reef have a noise issue since the bedroom is in the back by the walkways. If the bedroom windows are open, you tend to hear a lot of noise in the mornings. Also has snorkel gear and beach toys.

The property is within easy walking distance to plenty of good restaurants and shopping. The view from the deck is great, and the location was close enough to the beach that the sounds of the surf was always heard which was nice. The size of the unit was on the small side, especially the bedroom. The king size bed was great, but it consumed the bedroom. The bedroom closet was crammed with owner "stuff" which left little room for storing our vacation clothes. We had to leave our suitcases in the living area which was inconvenient. The unit needs some serious updating. The management company was very responsive when we complained of cigarette smoke coming from an adjacent lanai. Overall, I would recommend the property to others who want to enjoy being located right at the beach and enjoy some fabulous sunsets.

We really liked this unit. Great location, spacious and comfortable and very well equipped - decent. knives good pots and thoughtful extras like binoculars. The whole complex was clean and well maintained. A couple of small things - screens in bedroom window need a good clean and you'll want to upgrade bathroom light/ fan combo soon - kinda noisy. But we had a great stay here.

This unit is beautiful and the location was awesome for walking to all activities. The sunsets were beautiful right off the lanai. We had such a wonderful time and the unit is as described and had everything you need.

We had a fantastic time at Kona Reef. The unit was charming, with unique décor and a breathtaking view that could not be beat! Every morning, we ate breakfast on the balcony and watched dolphins leaping in the ocean directly in front of us. The pool was a great spot for lounging, watching the surf, and beating the afternoon heat. Restaurants and shops were an easy five minute walk from home, with amazing snorkeling beaches and other fun activities galore. It was the perfect home base for our honeymoon stay and we'd highly recommend this unit. Quiet, cozy, perfect. There was a misunderstanding on my part regarding our scheduled date of departure, and the owners could not have been more kind and gracious about it. Thank you for an experience to remember!

Rental was equipped with snorkel gear & beach chairs & beach towels which we utilized to snorkel @ Kahalu"u Beach[just 4 miles South of rental] to view sea turtles & tropical fish. <br/>The Lanai is right on the beach which was very enjoyable. <br/>The Royal Kona is just a 5 minute walk north of the condo. We partook of their luau & lunch @ beachside restaurant. <br/>In fact many restaurants easily walkable from the condo[20 minutes].<br/>The pool & jacuzzi were top notch @ the condo.<br/>We enjoyed the washer/dryer @ the condo. Nice to return home with clean clothes.<br/>I would definitely rent again if I return to the Big Island.<br/>The condo complex is very quiet @ nite; conducive to a good night sleep

We were looking for a great location with a view, and that is exactly what we got! This unit is direct oceanfront. The view and sounds of the waves sitting on the lanai is wonderful. The location is great! We walked to shopping and dining. It is one block to all of the activity of the village. There are a number of beaches very close by, one of which is pretty much right next door. The property manager is very responsive and professional, and will make sure your stay is great!

This is a great location with sensational views from the 3rd floor! The roar of the ocean, beautiful sunsets, sea turtles with a great swimming pool make this a wonderful location. An easy sort walk to the village for any number of restaurants and shops. The unit was well equipped with all we needed including condiments, etc. Excellent communication with the owner. We loved it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Annie's condo. The<br/> Condo is waterfront so not only did we enjoy hearing the ocean we viewed amazing views out on the lanai. We were very comfortable as Annie has well appointed the condo with amenities. The kitchen has nice with working appliances and we ate most of our meals in. It's in a great location and and we walked on foot to nice shops and restraunts. There's a great farmers market where we got our fruits, veggies, etc. Annie has all beach gear and We used the cooler, and chairs at the beach. The Kona reef grounds has a nice barbecue area, pool and grass area near the water. We so appereciated our stay. Thank you Annie!

This condo, Kona Reef D32, is wonderfully located. As promised, it is feet from the tide pools and surf below, with a beautiful view and one of Kona's pocket beaches not far to the south. There are dozens of eating and shopping places to the north. The condo itself is part of an older property, Kona Reef, which generally is fine, very authentic older Hawaii, with a nice pool and spa area.<br/><br/>The owner has decorated with great flair, and used mirrors to give a feeling of spaciousness to a small unit. The mirrors work well, the decor less so. The furniture in the bedroom is bulky, lots of silk plants, and must be hard to clean around. Finding outlets was a challenge, and there are too many extension cords for comfort. <br/><br/>And don't expect many ADA type aids--there are no safety bars in the shower, for instance, and the elevator stops a half a floor below the fourth floor, leaving 10 or 12 steps to wrestle up with luggage. Pack light if you stay here.<br/><br/>Booking and service overlapped for us among the owner, VRBO (which charged a hefty booking fee), and Knutson management, which takes care of cleaning and providing keys. We felt pretty much on our own so far as getting in and leaving, and never actually met either the owner or the manager, although the woman at the agency was helpful. It all worked, however. You sign a lease with all the normal warnings and caveats.<br/><br/>All in all we had a great week in Kona and enjoyed where we were. D32 will grow on you, and you can't beat the views and location.
