We were very happy with our Kona vacation rental. The home was very nice, very well equipped and a great location! We would definitely stay there again!
Oceanfront location, excellent. Shopping/dining proximity, excellent. Lanai location, setup & views, excellent. House layout, excellent. Home decor, very good. Home cleanliness (excluding kitchen), very good. Kitchen cleanliness/quality, marginal. Outdoor cleanliness/maintenance, marginal. Garage not useable for parking. Many, many positives. Very few negatives.
Tucked in a very private garden spot, we were thrilled to call this place home for a week. Spectacular view of the ocean and the whales. The house has everything we needed and the ocean breezes never ended. It is very conveniently located for groceries and restaurants. Definitely a repeat location.
Awesome Awesome! Home is beautiful, well equipped, location is so convenient and the view from the porch amazing! Would love to return!!
We really enjoyed our stay. The location is excellent, the waterfront is relaxing, and the house is nicely furnished. We hope to be able to come again this winter!
Beautiful setting, sounds of the waves crashing on the lava rocks, sitting on the lanai watching sunsets, seeing whales and dolphins swim in front of you. The rental was located walking distance to shopping, beaches, coffe, ect The kitchen was well stocked and all appliances were in working order. Comfortable beds and plenty of towels and linens as needed. A great place to stay while escaping a few weeks of Minnesota winter
Great place to stay!
Well stocked home with everything you need. Short walk to downtown Kona. View from home is what you see on site. Very quiet location with plenty of room for 2 couples and 2 additional kids.
We’ve stayed many times in Kona and this is one of our favorites. Tucked back off the road giving secluded feeling. Beautiful sunsets and whales and dolphins just off shore. .9 miles to downtown, an easy walk. Would definitely stay here again! Aloha
Very nice home steps from the ocean! We stayed for 8 nights loved the house. Spent a good deal of time on the patio enjoying the beautiful water and views.
Kona Bay Hale was absolutely amazing! The house was clean, beautiful, great location. I honestly can't say enough great things about the house and the entire experience!!!
This rental was perfect for our family of 6. We would walk to the Kona Ironman swim start (about 1.5 miles) and swim and have breakfast each morning. It was handy being so close to town, many restaurants within 1 mile. Good times!
Very Comfortable House. Ocean view and porch set up were spectacular. Very close to the event and eating establishments. The Driveway was a bit hard to access and air-conditioning throughout the house would be preferred. .
The house was better than expected. The balcony views are amazing and I watched the sunset every evening and sometimes we could see dolphins in the distance playing in the water. The living room and kitchen are immaculate. The front yard or garden was a pleasant surprise. We had an amazing vacation. My only complaint would be no central air conditioning just two wall units so it got a bit hot but not unbearable.
great property would stay again. Only downside is that they could stock a few more staples like salt, pepper, flour , oil etc. It was pretty spare.
I am part of a flight crew that is tired of staying in hotels and thought we would try this property during our trip to the big island. It far exceeded our expectations. The house is exceptionally clean, the furniture is in excellent shape and the view is incredible. Worth every penny spent and will do again if we every go back. Just amazing!
The home itself was beautiful, with stunning views, outstanding furnishings, and everything you need to make what could be a wonderful vacation. Unfortunately there is only a small air conditioner in the master bedroom, and only fans for everywhere else. Contrary to what you may read or think---there are no cooling ocean breezes. The Kailua-Kona area is the hottest place on the island, with very little breeze. It's ideal for lovely vistas, wonderful water-sports, and makes for excellent hot weather vacation. The temperature outside rarely went below 80 during our visit, which means the interior of the house was at or above 80 the entire time. The guest bedroom and guest bathroom were unbearable during most of the visit.

If you go during a cool spell or if you truly enjoy a hot house then this place would be awesome.
This home was just what I needed. It was right on the beach side. Love their huge deck that makes you feel you are literally out at sea. You even feel that when you are sitting in their living room which is like an extention of the deck. The home was clean and had everything you needed. You are close to town which is a plus. I would defintely stay here again...
This house was wonderful, I like everything clean and lovely, and white. The home was stylish and the waves were all we heard. There are several things that I would like to address. There needed to be paper products and a few other items provided, so that I didn't need to make many trips to the store. Also the Home should have been opened up to get the air circulating before our arrival It was extremely hot . I would Return. although the Wifi and tv in the living room never turned on and could not be used.
Beautiful oceanfront home close, but not too close, to Kona. Waves crashing against the rocks as we enjoyed our morning coffee or afternoon cocktails. Very comfortable, felt like we were at home. Nice towels and bed linens. Had a minor plumbing issue and management had someone there in 10 minutes and it was fixed within an hour, and this was on a holiday. Definitely would return. You will enjoy this home.
Beautiful and peaceful. We usually have a more active stay on the island, but we found ourselves not wanting to leave this property at all.
My husband and I stayed here from Feb 11-18 2017. It's a large villa right by the ocean that could easily accommodate 6-8 people (one king bed, one queen bed, and a bunk bed). For us (party of two) it was a bit too large, but that's how we wanted it. We absolutely loved the property. My favorite thing about it was the ocean front patio which was great for sipping on coffee in the morning, or watching the breathtaking sunsets at the end of the day, or just doing some yoga to the sound of the waves. The pictures don’t really do justice to this villa. The property is a 3 min drive to downtown Kona, but is located in a quiet neighborhood, which gives you peace and privacy, but you don’t feel isolated. There are also body boards and beach chairs and a washer and dryer for guest use which we found very convenient.
One thing that I could do without during our stay was the ants. There seemed to be spilled drinks in some hard to reach places in the kitchen and there were pockets of ants gathered around it. I would have expected the cleaning of the property before we arrived to be more thorough. Another one of my peeves was that the guests were expected to wash the used towels on the day before departure which I found a bit unusual.
Overall, we had an amazing stay at this villa. We have been to Hawaii five times and to the big island three times and this was one of our most memorable stays on this island. The management (especially Wayne) is professional and very accommodating and responded within a few hours to each enquiry which made us feel taken care of.
I strongly suggest this villa and the experience of oceanfront living in Kona.
Overall, the property was as described, nice and roomy with a beautiful view, and the location was wonderful, right on the water, just a short walk to the shops and restaurants of Kona.

Good layout for our 2 families staying in 1 house, and had all the amenities needed.

While the house was very nice and location was perfect, it was not very well-maintained. The screen door and screen itself were broken, the toilet in the master bedroom was running on and off, and things were starting to seem a little run down, and it just seemed like there was a lack of care in maintaining the home. The cleaning could have been better too, a few of the tables were still dirty and the floor wasn't clean.

Additionally, there could have been better service by the manager. We called because the hot water wasn't working, and it didn't get fixed for over a day, and we had to call several times in order to finally get it fixed. This is probably something we could have fixed ourselves, but there weren't any instructions posted around the house. They also mistakenly left us 2 sets of keys to the door of the house, but only 1 to the front gate, so we only had 1 set of keys for our whole stay. Just seemed like a general lack of attention on cleaning and maintenance by the property managers.

I'd recommend this property - it's a beautiful home with excellent location and the views of the ocean and sunset, but would warn that it's not as well maintained and clean as I would have hoped for the price.
It's about 1/4 mile down to Dig Me beach, but VERY doable. The house is magnificent, but only the bedrooms have window A/Cs. Got a bit warm for everyone else to sleep. It would also be nice to have a place to out the returnable bottles so SOMEBODY could get all those nickles back.
