What a nice stay! Loved the view and being right on the ocean. The grounds were beautiful. Sitting on the balcony was like sitting on the beach! The condo was older but had everything we needed and was quite comfortable. Having 2 bathrooms was a nice plus!

Kona Bali Kai offers a lot of charm. It was built a long time ago, and has withstood the test of time. Local surfers enjoy the beach next door which adds to the local lifestyle. <br/>Our condo was clean and the kitchen was well appointed. The linen was fresh, and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed viewing whales from the lanai and local fishermen trying to catch their dinner. The pool is a little on the cool side, and gets about 4 hours of sunshine. Still, that didn't deter us. The staff keep the place looking tidy, and the lawns watered and mowed. The grills are about at the end of their lifecycle, so you should bring a lighter with and lots of patience.<br/>The condo manager was very responsive and kind. This is one of our favorite places to stay in Kona.

We had a wonderful stay at Wayne's property. The condo was clean, comfortable, and located in a beautiful setting on the Kailua-Kona coastline, looking over tidepools and sunning sea turtles. Wayne was a very responsive host: the washing machine door was broken when we arrived, and he arranged to have it fixed the same day. We can't recommend this property enough! You will have a wonderful stay.

Super awsome and everything was nice and the place was good

This condo is in a great location, is clean, well equipped with accessories. It has a beautiful patio overlooking the ocean; a private pool and a very nicely landscaped property.<br/>Unfortunately the second bedroom is in the back. This location is loud at night and there is no air flow from the ocean. Luckily there is a pull out in front of the patio which worked well with the extra fans.

This was the best place for our entire family! I can&#x2019;t say enough about this condo and give it a high mark. This condo has everything you could possibly need. Washer and dryer, snorkel and boogie board equipment, full kitchen....the list goes on. Wayne is wonderful to deal with and is so accommodating as we were a late check in and gave us all the info we needed- thank you Wayne! Sea turtles were a constant sight adjacent to this suite. <br/>The location was really easy to get around by trolley when it was on time, markets nearby as well as some beaches. (Beware of Magic Sands- some websites say kid friendly but we found out the hard way that the surf can be quite dangerous). Great lifeguards! Manta Ray Night Snorkeling was a chance of a lifetime and would recommend this activity to anyone wanting a little adventure. We were privileged to be here for the Mauna Loa eruption.<br/>All in all this condo has every amenity imaginable down to the small appliances. Swimming pool is a perfect place to wind down the day. I will definitely come back in the future. A very clean, well maintained condo

We had a really good time everything was great but I think that the condo was dated I think they need to I don't know the condo just seemed to me like it was dull but then again we don't always stay in it we're mostly on the go and yes I'd be back recommended this property again I love staying here I think it's a great location and everybody is very helpful

Love Kona Bali Kai! We've been traveling to the Big Island for years and have stayed in many different units in this same property. What makes it somewhat unique from other properties in the area is that it's (1) oceanfront - like 20 ft from the ocean and (2) both the living room and master bedroom are off the lanai, so if you like living, eating and sleeping to the sounds of the ocean, this is the spot for you! This particular unit is funky, but functional. We had everything we needed, prepared many meals, showered, laundry, etc. It's outdated and could use some TLC, so if you're looking for luxury accommodations, this may not be the unit for you, BUT if you're like me, being oceanfront is luxury enough! And everything else is icing on the cake.

Great place with spacious balcony overlooking the ocean and talented surfers. The condo was clean, we loved that the bedroom had ocean view and patio doors. Location good, close to town but far enough away from crowds.

The condo was better than pictured (which we thought was pretty wonderful already)! The condo was clean and easy to manage. Beautiful place to call "home" while visiting the Big Island!

from the moment we walked into the condo we were awestruck. Such a beautiful view, the surf was high and the sunsets every night. The barbeque was great to use and the pool stayed open until 10. It was perfect for end of the day dip and soak in the spa. I definitely would love to stay here again!

that's what we call this unit. We keep returning because we have never found a better place, better view or better location! We plan to return here a couple times per year!

Our stay was superb. We saw whales, dolphins and turtles from the balcony. My I -laws laid in bed and watched the ocean every morning. They couldn't be happier with the stay as well. The condo was outfitted with just about everything you could need to cook a few meals away from home. It had a cooler and ice packs to pack lunch on the run and even all the beach toys (snorkel gear, beach chairs, beach towels, literal beach toys) you would need for a day at the beach. The pool and hot tub were lovely after a day of play. 223 would get a 10/10 if it weren't for the fishy smell on the front side of the building. Thankfully with the crosswinds, it didn't smell in the balcony side. We kept the multiple sliders open the entire stay. It was fantastic!

This unit is one that we like to return to as often as possible. Can praise the views and location enough! We love sleeping to the sounds of the waves crashing on the tide pools.

Hello - You can not beat the gorgeous view of this room. Our favorite spot was watching for sea life and watching the turtles in the coves and fish in the waves. With that said, the carpet and curtains were pretty dirty. The towels had stains and the bath matts had bleach marks. The frig has cracks, but works well. A few more fans for the nights that the air does not flow thru the room would be appreciated also. For me, part of the vacation experience is having clean and pretty surroundings in the room itself. It needs some TLC by the owners. There were starter supplies and that was greatly appreciated. Oveall - it was a wonderful experience.

Can't get better than surf breaking right off your lanai and going to sleep with the sounds of the ocean. Beautiful sunsets- this time we even had a double rainbow. You can spot turtles in the tidepools right from your lanai as you eat your breakfast. Best snorkel beaches close by!! We've been coming here for many years and look forward to come on a more regular basis!!

Our stay was fantastic. The view from the lanai can't be beat, and having a lanai off the master is simply amazing. The condo was appointed with all the basics we needed, and clean and tidy upon arrival. It's showingbthe wear of being oceanfront, however. The metal fixtures are rusty, and the electrical box in the kitchen was in a really frightening state. Perhaps a little more attention to the maintenance details like these would make this an even better space.

Kona Bali Kai 223 is in a great location being in close proximity to Keauhou and Kailua Bays, let alone walking distance from Magic Sands beach park which was great for the kids. The unit could use some updating, but overall we would highly recommend it!!!

We stayed for almost 3 weeks in March 2019. I miss it so much!! We stayed in #223 in Kona Bali Kai. The view was breathtaking! We loved hearing the sound of the waves. The unit is a little outdated but was very clean and king bed was soft & extremely comfortable. There was rust in a few places but didn't bother us and could be remedied pretty easily such as replacing shower curtain rod and towel rods. The one recommendation I would make to owner is to add some privacy drapes on the sliders. It has sheers which is wonderful cause you can see the water, helps with sun, and can't really see in during day but for privacy at night would be nice to be able to have darkening drapes as well. We spent most of our time out on the balcony which was big and had a nice tile floor with table/chairs/recliners. We loved watching cruise ships, boats, kayaks,para sailing, whales, turtles, and dolphins! Kitchen and bbq's worked well for us. The ceiling fans were great and between those and the ocean winds, we didn't miss having an air conditioner at all. We didn't use the extra bedroom with twin beds or sofa bed. We loved the location of Kona Bali Kai. There is a trolley you can take for $2.00 each way to go into town which was fun to do for shopping and eating out. We went to lots of beaches and Two Step is great for snorkeling and Hapuna for boogie boarding! We went to many farmers markets which had the best fruit and veggies. Wayne was great to work with and helped us with anything we needed. We plan to go back and we would stay in unit #223 again.

We had a lovely stay at the Kona Bali Kai. The master bedroom off of the lanai allowed us to be lulled to sleep by the waves and my kids had a great sleep in thei own bedroom with twin beds. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean. It was the perfect home base for our holiday on the Big Island. We enjoyed also enjoyed watching the gorgeous sunsets from the lanai. The owner could definitely spend some time repairing/updating a few things, but these things didn't impact our sstay and we were aware before we left thatwe were not renting from a 5 star resort.

Awesome condo at great location! Loved it! Had everything we needed, except air conditioning, but it was nice that you could lock the front screen door and feel the ocean breeze come thru from the lanai. Very much enjoyed the pool and watching the sea turtles in the tide pools.

We absolutely loved our condo at Kona Bali Kai. We were on the 2nd floor and would sit on our lanai and get sprinkled with ocean spray. We especially liked the entire condo, with the exception of the 2nd bedroom, looked right out on the ocean. The full glass patio doors facing the ocean were ideal. We'd stay here again.

Super seaside location on Ali'i drive in beautiful Kona. Condo is in pretty good shape overall, for a built-in-the-70's place. Very well supplied with boogie boards, etc. We had a few cockroaches, although it smelled as if it had recently been sprayed for them inside the kitchen cabinets. Having wifi in the condo was nice, made it easier to keep in touch with the office and customers.

The close proximity to the whales and green sea turtles, provided us with amazing entertainment. Whether it was polking around the tidal pools or watching the whales breach, we marveled at it all.<br/> The condo was well stocked and they seemed to have thought of our every need. The unit appeared to have been updated and well cared for.

a nice, well equipped apartment, with a great view right on the ocean<br/>practical location. the street side was quite noisy for the second bedroom however. sofa was more or less comfortable, but beds were good<br/>no air conditioning, but the fans did the job, so we did not suffer from the heat.

This was a wonderful condo. My family and I truly enjoyed our stay here. The condo was fully equipped and we enjoyed many meals on the patio and watched the sunsets. The bonus was we were able to see turtles every morning in the tide pools. For the price you can't get a better view. Mahalo!

This was the third time I have stayed at this condo and I am looking forward to the fourth.

The unit's location is very nice. No obstructions to the ocean, easy access to the parking, bbq, pool. We had a couple of minor issues with a burned electrical outlet and a leak from the kitchen sink, but the agent resolved them very quickly. The unit was nicely stocked with clean towels, fully equipped kitchen, beach stuff, and pretty much everything we needed for a beach vacation. We had to buy very few household items during our 9 days stay. Agent was very professional. I am looking forward to coming back.

Very nice condo! Lanai is large enough for the table, four chairs two chaise loungers and another small table. Securty was very friendly and made us feel welcome. Saw many humpbacks and calves, spinner dolphins and turtles from the lanai. No A/C needed, the ocean breezes kept the condo cool.

We had a wonderful experience! We were a family of 6 staying in 223 for 5 nights. The oceanview was magnificent and the room was beautifully hawaiian decorated. We were happy to find bodyboards, snorkel gear equipment etc etc. The parking was also great. Our only concern was that we had paid for cleaning but had to clean all of our sheets etc despite this extra cost. Besides that, no complications. We really enjoyed our stay!

the view was so great - we never left the huge lanai where you had a table with four chairs, and then room for two lounge chairs as well! very interesting view with the waves crashing onto the rocks right in front of you. the condo layout was perfect - our teens had their own bedroom and bathroom to escape to, so good separation for families. we did walk to town, but it is a couple miles, so best with a car, but there are restaurants and some shopping nearby, so did not have to go anywhere.

This condo was fabulous. Great location, great value, great views! Everything was as promised. It has two bathrooms, which is nice when everyone is trying to get ready in the morning. The kitchen is well equipped, we made breakfast a couple of times. The Lanai was great, the furniture and beds were comfortable. We had no issues at all. I would recommend this place to my friends and family and would definately stay there again myself. Covered parking is included. There is a small take out restaurant (Da Poke Shack) on site, which has tasty fish.

If you are not from the city, like us, the noise from Alii street at night might take some getting used to if you stay in that bedroom. That was the only thing that we had a problem with. The kids slept in that room and didn't even notice it. We loved being able to see dolphins, whales and turtles from our balcony every day.

My family (four adults and one child) stayed in this lovely condo for the second week of January, 2013. The location was perfect for activities on the Kona side of the Big Island--it is located near the town of Kona but far enough way to be a little quieter. The best part was the proximity to the water and the views. We saw sea turtles daily in the tide pools a 100 ft away and this was a special treat. The worst thing is that there is quite a lot of traffic noise if you are sleeping in the back bedroom (two single beds). I imagine this is the case for all properties on Alii Drive. The front bedroom (Queen bed) has gorgeous views over the ocean. With ocean views, the patio, was where we spent every evening after a busy day of activities--we even saw whales on our last day. The sunsets were incredible. Bottom line, while perhaps needing some updating, this is a well located, clean and well managed condo. We would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our Kona Bali Kai stay very much. Nice condo with a wonderful view. The security staff were terrific! We will most likely stay there again..

We had a good time and liked the property and was considering booking for the next year as well as looking into a possible purchase until the property manager came up to us without even finding out any facts and started to ream us out for parking in a reserved spot. He assumed we were visitors and literally screamed at us. All we did was to park in a spot to try and find our correct parking spot. We were renting unit C-520 and was told to turn left into the parking area under the building and park in 117. Well that was incorrect. #117 was straight ahead under building E. This was not making any sense to me so we started to check out the area under A, B, and C Well, no #117. Finally the manager said 117 was under the E building and huffed off not bothering to find out any facts what so ever. <br/>We will never go back to that site again much less consider buying there.<br/>Gary and Donna Gridley
